1. McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine
School Profile:
Located in Montreal, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is actually the first medical faculty that was established in Canada in 1829 and the school offers its program in both English and French language.

- The Overall Success Rate is just 6.9%
- Quebec residents contribute to as high as 92% of the matriculants
- You need to have an average GPA of 3.9 to stand a good chance and your undergraduate coursework should include biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics.
- You don’t need to present any MCAT test scores unless you are from a non-Canadian university, and as such applicants should have an MCAT score of 508-509+ or a total score in the 80th percentile to stand a good chance.

2. Université de Montréal- Faculté de Médecine
School Profile:
Located in Montreal and Trois-Rivières, the Université de Montréal is one of the best medical schools in Quebec, and has been ranked #3 by Macleans.
It takes four to five years to complete the program here, including a preparatory year.
Eligibility:
The language of instruction here is French and non-residents or international students coming from countries where French is not the primary language will have to present a language test as a part of the application process.
But getting admitted into an MD program here is not quite easy because about 95% of the slots are reserved for Quebec residents.

- Before the application deadline, you need to prove that you have Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, if you are an international student, you should comply with the Government provisions.
- Ensure that you are in good standing with the Quebec-New Brunswick, Quebec-Prince Edward Island, or Quebec-Nova Scotia agreements.

The school’s Faculty of Medicine offers astonishing programs with a duration of four to five years that grooms students to become exceptional in the field.
Eligibility:
Just like the Université de Montréal Faculté de Médecine, programs here are taught in French, therefore, foreigners might have to present a language test as a part of the application process.
And just like other Canadian medical schools, Laval University reserves a large percentage of its slots for its residents, as high as 92%.

4. Sherbrooke University- Faculty de Médicine
School Profile:
The University of Sherbrooke is a four-year top French-language public research university in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.
It has been ranked #15 by Macleans among the best schools offering medical programs in Canada.

Getting into this school’s medical program is not an easy task because the school reserves a large percentage of slots for its residents.

Application Process:
To get into the University of Sherbrooke Faculty of Medicine, here are some things you should know;
- An applicant mush possess a Diplôme d’Étude Collégiale (DEC) or an equivalent degree.
- An applicant should have accumulated 90 credits while enrolled in a university program at the time of application.
- An applicant should have post-secondary coursework that includes Mathematics, biology with lab, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics with lab.
- Applicants should take the French language test, especially for non-residents.
- Applicants should take and submit the CASper test in French.
